Kevin’s Newsletter: October 15, 2023

Hi friends,

This week’s newsletter is a bit different as I am writing it from Porto, Portugal. I have done a plethora of research on becoming an optimized and organized traveler and I wanted to share some things that may help you on your next trip.

Liquid IV and AG1. While traveling, it’s easy to become dehydrated and not intake an adequate amount of vitamins and nutrients. Both of these items come in single packets making them easy to throw in a water bottle.

Quest Cookies & Cream Protein Bars. Getting enough protein during a regular day at home is difficult enough, but while traveling, it makes it even harder to hit my goal of 0.7-1.0 grams of protein per body weight. Having a few of these protein bars allows me to stay on track with my nutrition goals.

Sleep Mask. I’ve found this specific mask to be best for me for completely darkening my visual field while sleeping. The typical sleep mask works as well, but I’ve found that too much light is visible in the lower visual field.

Neck pillow. This one works best for me because it is a bit taller and fits my long neck, but you may need to experiment with different styles and brands to find one that works for you.

Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. Any high-quality, noise-canceling headphones will make your traveling experience much more enjoyable.

Anker Portable Charger. This can be a lifesaver when you’re out exploring and your phone’s battery is running low.

SY Compact Travel Umbrella. A great portable umbrella that can fit in any backpack and most purses for any unexpected storms that you encounter on your trip.

BAGAIL Compressible Packing Cubes. These might be the best organizational purchases I’ve ever made. They have an extra zipper to compress your clothes into a smaller volume to allow your items to stay organized and take up less space in your bag.

Melatonin Gummy. An essential for acclimating to a different time zone. Melatonin is a hormone made by the body to initiate the sleep cascade, and in supplemental form, can help you adjust your sleep schedule to match with your destination.

Until next week,

Kevin
