Book I’m reading

Show Your Work by Austin Kleon. This book was recommended by ex-doctor and YouTuber Ali Abdaal. It inspired me to build a website and start a newsletter. Initially, it is uncomfortable to put ideas on the internet for everyone to see, but it is selfish to learn new things and not share them with others. My goal with this newsletter is to share information that is beneficial to everyone who reads it.

My daily breakfast smoothie

It includes 1 cup of mixed berries, 1 banana, a scoop of whey protein powder, 7 grams of creatine monohydrate, 1 cup of Greek yogurt, 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter, 1 cup of spinach, and then enough almond milk for the ingredients to mix. Having this smoothie has helped me avoid the afternoon crash that I used to get when I was eating eggs and toast for breakfast.

Tool I’m using to fall asleep faster

Yoga Nidra by Kelly Boys on the Waking Up app. After a busy day of work, I sometimes struggle to shut my mind off while laying in bed and attempting to fall asleep. This is a great mindfulness series to help you relax your nervous system to fall asleep more quickly instead of ruminating in thought.

What I use to capture ideas

Notion. David Allen said, “Your mind is for having ideas, not for holding them.” I find that trying to remember things I learn or tasks on my to-do list clutters my mind. When an idea or something interesting arises in your mind, writing it down can take the stress away of forgetting it. I recommend using Notion or Apple Notes for capturing ideas and information.
