December 6, 2025: Back From Break

Hi friends,

Long time no see.

It's been six months since the last edition of the newsletter, and a lot has happened since then.

I took this long break to focus on studying for the final exam of my orthopedic fellowship program—and I'm happy to report that I passed! Three years of studying and hard work paid off. I now have the knowledge and skills to treat my patients effectively, rather than guessing at diagnoses.

Last month, I went on a three-week trip across Japan with some friends. We stopped in Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, Onomichi, Hiroshima, and Osaka, taking 341,000 steps and walking 156 miles during the trip. The beauty was incredible, and the people there were even better. We'll definitely be going back.

Right after we got back from Japan, I proposed to my long-time girlfriend, Meagan, at the Field Museum—the same place where we had our first date. We’ve since started planning our wedding and are considering a destination wedding in Portugal.

It's been a jam-packed six months, but I'm ready to get back into a writing routine.

This newsletter will continue to focus predominantly on injury prevention and health promotion, but I also want to sprinkle in content about my other interests—wine, golf, volleyball, watches, and books—that I hope some of you will find interesting too.

What would you like to know more about when it comes to health, rehab, or injury prevention? Feel free to reply directly to this email.

Until next time,

Kevin
